Eight Years

This past weekend Rob and I celebrated our anniversary and had a little mini-vacay to Orlando. Although we go on dates and did one overnight stay away from Finn, we realized we need to get away more often. It was just refreshing to be together, not distracted by anything else but the neon lights on International Drive. It was good. The funny part is that it was only 2 nights, 3 days, but it was still enough. .

We cashed in our points from our bank which made this entire mini-getaway completely free. We even branched out (or I should say, I branched out) and signed us up for a zip-lining tour at an awesome place called Forever Florida. It was pretty amazing, and scary. Seriously, the first tower that you zip off of is SEVEN stories high. Seven. It was high. But it was so fun. Memories were made.

Our guides were great and hilarious and messed with us often. Rob filmed my first zip...I was nervous (as I probably checked with the guide 5 times if I’m good) and after the guide cleared me to go and I finally jumped off the ledge he jokingly yelled “hold up!”.........lol, it was terrible but hilarious afterward.

We did I think 7 zip-lines from tower to tower. Toward the end they had a photographer take pics of us while we posed. Before we went our guide gave us like 12 examples of poses. Here’s Rob going for the Victoria’s Secret pose…

And me? I still couldn't pry my hands away from holding on with both hands, so I just did a leg kick…

We then did more photos after that, crooked helmet and all.

Our group was great and again our guides were so much fun.

Yay for eight years with my man. <3

Hoping you all are well and gearing up for the holidays. We have cooler weather coming and there's nothing that makes me happier than the fact that when we shop for Christmas trees we won't be sweating. Yay!!!

Halloween 2014

This year the sweet boy was a wild dinosaur (we like to say dinosaur like Jeff Goldblum from Jurassic Park). I followed this amazing tutorial for his tail and was inspired by this overall concept from Rust and Sunshine. (thank you to both!) I used a sleeper I had on hand and added a hood along with the spikes. I'm not a pro sewer at all, I promise, I didn't have a machine but MacGyvered it all by hand. But we were happy to see our little dino excited about it...

His little hands in this pic look like a t-rex for sure...

Our little dino then tried to climb a tree...

Then got tired of that and started looking for shelter...

Then found a blanket and took a nap (yeah right) :))

Love our wild boy...

Rob and I both dressed up this year...totally just created some last minute costumes (those can be the best though!) He went as Dr. Who...Matt Smith version.

Equipped with a sonic screwdriver and everything...

His sonic screwdriver he created was super impressive to me...oh and hello handsome. We're going to make him wear a bowtie more often.

Me? I dressed up as Katniss Everdeen. Rob made me a bow out of a stick in our yard (what a man) and I made my mockingjay "pin" with some gold paper we had. Here I am watching out for enemies...

We're doofs...I don't think I could ever really look tough...lol

We had a great night with dear family and friends. We ate chili, trick-or-treated (Finn, being his shy self, actually walked up to a few doors!) and enjoyed the cooler weather. Yay for a non-sweaty Halloween! Happy November!
