A Shower for Skye

Oh goodness, what a beautiful shower it was. My sister and dear friend designed and decorated the shower and it was so lovely. We had it at my mom's house who graciously let hot air balloons and clouds hang from her ceiling, yep, it was beautiful. Alright, on to iPhone pics...(I seriously need to dust off my Nikon)...

The food was delicious...my sister was so thoughtful and remembered my love for the buffalo chicken strips from Toojays and had those in the tins on the right. They were quite a hit. Oh and she made a marshmallow/fluff fruit dip...um...yeah, that was good.

 

 

 

 

Although it's circulated that I'm not a huge fan of pink...pink/coral and gold combinations seem to make the cut according to my face in this pic...

Okay, I've seriously been convinced that I need to be using my Nikon after going through these photos!

 

I wasn't able to snag a pic with everyone but it was such a lovely shower. So thankful. We got so many things for our girl and to just help us out too.

 

Life has been incredibly busy and full, we're in the middle of house repairs (waiting on a new roof and then have mold to be removed from two/maybe three rooms of our house). I'm also purging the house of stuff that needs to go. Also working on getting Finn's big boy room ready for him and then one day I'll get to get Skye's room (Finn's nursery) decorated (have to wait for mold behind wall to be removed). Constantly having to let go of what and how I wish things would play out. It's a good lesson for my patience and control, to just let go.

 

We're a month away from this baby's due date, can't believe it, but also so ready to meet this little one.

Thankful

This past week we were blessed to get out of town and visit this beautiful spot only an hour away from us.

We stayed here last year with my brother and sister-in-law and were back at it again this year. What was new this year is that we actually had a pool loving boy.

It made it so fun to be able to just stay in the pool while he jumped from the edge to your arms constantly. He loved it. We'd go from jumping to then doing little jumps on the steps of the pool. Oh how fun it'll be when this boy can swim.

We were able to relax and just swim, nap, write, read, make food, swim again and hang out with family. It was a blessing knowing very full well that this will be our last vacation as a family of three, and I'm anticipating that although life will be filled with our newest blessing soon, it'll also be a lot more work caring for two. I'm excited though and we will thrive off of God's strength to get us through those first few months. Maybe by Christmas season (or before!) we'll be in that sweet spot of having a routine that just flows. We'll see. We'll definitely be working toward it. 

I officially entered my third trimester yesterday. This pregnancy is a-flyin. Although yes it's true, I'm not taking as many pictures of my pregnant self or documenting every detail as I did when I didn't have a toddler, but I'm still in awe of this little growing girl.

Girl. I still can't believe we're having a girl! Hah, but same with Finn, things just don't sink in quite like they do when they place the little one on your chest.

My sister and dear friend are in the works of organizing a little shower for this girl. It's fun this time around knowing what I'll need. I won't forget at Finn's shower opening things having no idea what the item actually did.

Anyway, I feel like I'm rambling. Lately I feel like my feelings, my mind, my soul, all can be summed up in songs. I'll leave with this one that's in my head right now...thankful for the reminders of God's grace with me and unfailing love to carry me through every aspect of life. A constant needed reminder.

Belated Gender Reveal

Hallo! So since it's been a while I thought I'd blog about something that happened yes a whole month ago...our gender reveal party!

Like last time with Finn, Rob and I decided, although it was a little harder this time, to turn our heads at the sono to later find out at a little get-together. While we drove to drop Finn off with my sister before my appointment we were on the fence of whether to look or not. The hardest part was knowing that our appointment was on Monday and our little party wasn't going to happen till Friday.

But in the end we didn't look.

Instead we changed the party to Monday night. :-D

Going back to our appointment, it was really great. The little one was very active, was sticking her tongue out and even gave us a thumbs up. We then saw the doctor who delivered Finn and she didn't want to spend too much time with us for fear of slipping on the gender.

I then left for work, and Rob and my sister then worked on getting the party planned for that night.

Cause again. We had no patience. Ain't nobody got time for that!

I dropped off the sono pic at the bakery to be ready in just 5 hours (thanks Publix!)...

and then I watched the minutes tick by at work till it was time for me to go home.

Once home, I pulled out the decorations from our last party (yay for saving stuff!) and threw those up. I didn't want it to feel completely last minute, lol.

After we quickly gobbled down pizza, we took a picture of the guesses. It was a little girl heavy this time.

Not everyone was able to make it due to our last minute planning, but we facetimed with Greg, Jen and Bella so they could find out with us too. Finally we cut into the cake and found out that we're having a baby GIRL...

Yep, I was completely shocked. Didn't really see that coming at all. A girl! Finn was overwhelmed and cried a little (he's a lil sensitive and understandably confused). He's working out his emotions constantly, being a toddler isn't easy. :-D

Anyway, we're happy to welcome a little girl to our family. Finn will be such a great brother. I'm thankful and honored that Rob and I are given this opportunity to parent these babies and watch them dream and develop their own personalities and interests. I think that's been one of my favorite parts. Praying for these two constantly and thanking God for such a gift.

Just like with Finn, we took a picture of me with the baby's name not too long after...

We really clicked with the name Skye similarly to how we just clicked with the name Finn. The middle name is in honor of my friend, Larsen. Elizabeth is her middle name.

Skye Elizabeth we all look forward to meeting you face to face little one!

Easter 2015

Well hello! Long time, no blog. To explain the past three months in a short period of time, I’ll say this…  

My first trimester turned me into a sleepy sloth.  

Rob and I are expecting our second babe (found out on Finn’s birthday, yeah that was kinda really sweet). We’re excited and probably in denial because it just doesn’t feel real. It’s very different the second time around with an active and sweet 2 year old. I’m currently 17 weeks today and looking forward to finding out the gender in 3ish weeks.  

So yes, I’ve been sleeping a lot in the evenings, hence bringing blogging and my Circle Circle Tot Tot shop stocking to a halt. But I’m coming back. Seeing the light. 

We shared on FB this photo of the boy as our announcement for the new babe. We classified this as Finn studying up on the things to come… (not to ignore the fact that we bribed him with M&M’s for this photo) 

 We’re excited to see him step into the role of big brother and are extremely confident he’ll do great. He’s such a sweet kid. Yes, there are times that his behavior can make our eyes bug out, but he’s such a sweetie. 

 Well I dusted off the camera a bit over Easter and wanted to get back in the swing of taking some photos. You’ll notice Finn got a big boy haircut. We didn’t hesitate to trim it once we saw how much the length was bothering his eyes. I loved his long hair but with the summer also upon us we quickly realized this was the right decision. Okay, on to photos.  

We decided to do our little basket and egg hunt on Saturday since Sunday was going to be a little chaotic. I’m thinking next year I’ll start hiding the basket from him like my mom used to do. 

 We then had an Easter party with our church on Saturday afternoon.
