I have thankfully stumbled across two blogs that make me so very happy to read. They are both centered around DIY home projects, as well as just two honest couples blogging their lives. Tons - and I mean TONS - of amazing tips and how-to's. And overall, generally hilarious to read. These people are effortlessly entertaining. Check them out and become a new follower like myself! I'm hooked!!

Piano Bench
Well, it's been a while! I've been busy working on some projects (photos to come). During which, I completed a mini project of my own. First, let me say how happy I am to have a piano in my house. It's also a very special piano, it was my Uncle Jimmy's who passed away a long time ago, yet, having this piano of his with me makes me feel somewhat closer to him than ever.
On to the project...well the piano is from the 80's and needed some pizazz. The easiest thing to do was to change out the worn fabric on the bench. I found some beautiful fabric on http://www.babybedding.com/ and simply stapled it onto the seat. Very happy with it, and yes, find myself staring at it pretty regularly. Now to get this thing tuned so it can stop sounding like I'm playing in a saloon. Enjoy!
Grand total for this project: $9
Also have to point out the beautiful dove that my friend, Brandy, made for me. I'll eventually be doing some kind of collage with photos above the piano. I was given the below pictures of my uncle playing the piano and little me playing an old piano. This will definitely be on/above the piano. <3
Thankful for the lovely gift of this special piano...it will be used and appreciated immensely.

Stump Table
My mother-in-law made me this stump table. I wouldn't mind having 20 of these around the house. West Elm has these for $199, so my mother-in-law is probably going to make some more in the future. She personally picked a stump, removed the bark and sanded it. Lovely and budget-friendly result. :)

Great Find
Even though I love decorating, it can take me forrrever to hang up wall art in my own home. My husband and I stumbled across a cute shop named Vivant House, https://www.facebook.com/vivanthouseinc, and I came across the below tins with numbers on them (only $15 for the set). Right up my alley, a little country with a modern simple graphic. Well, by getting these, it finally inspired me to hang these framed tiles I bought on sale probably 3-4 years ago. Lol. I have so much left to hang... Happy Sunday everyone, I hope it's been restful!

Christmas
I've been enjoying the meaning of this season and have also been enjoying some decorating around the house and some crafting (thanks to Pinterest) Merry Christmas everyone! May your days be filled with the hope and joy that this season brings.
pretzels, melted hershey's kisses and m&m's...my kind of easy recipe! |
extra branches from our tree gathered with twine, and some added pinecone ornaments |
homemade snow globes...such a fun craft to do! |
